Who We Are
At Developing Hands, we are a multidisciplinary team of passionate leaders in the therapy field, providing pediatric therapy in Mississauga that families trust. We have been serving families and children for over 12 years in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.
Developing Hands Pediatric Therapy provides Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Therapy (Speech Language Pathology, SLP), Pediatric Physiotherapy, Feeding Therapy, Counselling (Clinical Social Worker), and Osteopathy for children, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and youth in Mississauga and the surrounding cities. Services are delivered by experienced speech therapists and other specialised clinicians in our Mississauga Pediatric Therapy Clinics (Mississauga East, bordering Etobicoke, and Mississauga West, bordering Oakville and Milton), through in-home services across the GTA, and via online (remote) therapy across Ontario.
Our mission is to empower children and give hope to parents by providing client-centred, family-focused, evidence-based pediatric therapy to help children reach their potential today and become leaders of tomorrow.
Our Therapies
Helping Children Do and Play
Occupational Therapy is an effective form of rehabilitation that enables individuals to engage in activities of daily living to their optimal potential and as independently as possible. Occupational Therapists aim to enhance the compatibility between a person’s skills, environment, and meaningful activities to improve performance. Children engage daily in activities across three main categories: self-care, leisure, and productivity.

Helping Children SPEAK
Speech Therapy is a service offered to children and families to enhance communication, language, speech, and social skills. Children experiencing speech delays or difficulty communicating with words or sentences benefit from targeted therapy strategies. speech therapists (Speech Language Pathologists – SLPs) are experts in developmental milestones of speech and language and can identify the root causes of concerns. Therapy is tailored to meet each child at their current level, using creative and engaging techniques to support progress while making the process enjoyable.

Helping Children MOVE
Physiotherapy assists children in improving function, movement, strength, and physical capabilities while addressing underlying physical health concerns. Through pediatric physiotherapy, children with developmental or physical delays receive support to enhance motor skills and overall mobility. Physiotherapists also work with children requiring general conditioning, strengthening, or recovery from sport-related or non-sport-related injuries to support participation in daily routines and activities.

Feeding Therapy enhances the feeding experience for children and families by addressing challenges related to nutrition, mealtime participation, and family dynamics. Services are provided by either a Speech Therapist or an Occupational Therapist, both trained in feeding concerns, underlying causes, and effective strategies. Families are matched with the appropriate therapist based on their child’s needs and goals.

Counselling supports families, children, youth, and adults in understanding and addressing emotional, social, psychological, or physical challenges. Through structured guidance and coping strategies, individuals are supported in improving well-being and achieving a more balanced life.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners or OMP for short, focus on the manipulation and massage of muscle tissue, joints and bones to treat a number of concerns in infants, children, youths and adults. At Developing Hands Pediatric Therapy, our Osteopathic Manual Practitioners start the treatment journey with your family before your child is born. Our Practitioners treat pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and children from 0 (newborns) to 18 years of age (youths). Our Osteopathic Manual Practitioner can assist families, infants, toddlers, children and youth in a variety of ways to alleviate pain and enhance functioning.

Family involvement is a vital part of therapeutic success. Parenting Coaching sessions provide education and strategies to enhance a child’s abilities, while family participation in counselling offers essential support. Adult counselling and therapy services are also available, ensuring comprehensive care for the entire family.
We also provide Adult Counselling Services and various therapy services for adults to assist with meeting their therapeutic goals. Developing Hands offers a complete experience for the whole family to address therapeutic goals and needs, both for children and adults.
