Developing Hands Pediatric Therapy offers a variety of assessment and treatment services to children, infants, toddlers, adolescents and youth in Brampton and the surrounding region including: physiotherapy (PT), Speech Language Pathology, SLP (Speech Therapy), Occupational Therapy (OT), Feeding Therapy, Counselling (Clinical Social Worker), Psychoeducational Assessments and Osteopathy. Developing Hands has a strong team of therapists from multiple disciplines that serve the Brampton area. Our Brampton Therapists provide in-home services in Brampton and in our East and West Mississauga clinics that are easily accessible from Brampton via highways 410 and 403. Our Brampton therapists also provide remote therapy online to children across Ontario. Helping Children Do and Play
Developing Hands offers in-home, in-school, in-daycare Occupational Therapy in Brampton, and in-clinic therapy just south of Brampton. Occupational Therapy is a type of rehabilitation treatment that helps children and adults alike more effectively complete their ‘occupation’ or daily activities as optimally and independently as possible. The occupations of a child include self-care, such as dressing and feeding; leisure, such as bike riding, playing, throwing a ball and productivity, such as hand writing. All of these skill areas involve the development of different skillsets. Our skilled Brampton Occupational Therapists work with children to help them build their skillsets necessary to engage in these daily skills. Our Brampton Speech Therapists, also known as Speech Language Pathologists, or SLP for short, are experts in understanding children’s speech and language milestones and help to determine and address root causes of concerns. Developing Hands offers Physiotherapy at home, in-school or in-daycare in Brampton, and in-clinic services in our Physiotherapy Clinic just south of Brampton. Physiotherapy helps children improve their function, movement, strength, and gross motor skills such as coordination, balance, gait, and posture. At Developing Hands, our Brampton Physiotherapists provide individualized assessment and treatment to enhance the motor skills of children addressing underlying physical health concerns they may have. A child experiencing difficulties reaching their gross motor milestones will benefit from Physiotherapy. Our highly qualified and trained Brampton Physiotherapists can also help new born babies and infants achieve milestones based on their development, such as tummy time, rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, walking and running. Developing Hands provides Feeding Therapy at home in Brampton and in-clinic services in our clinic just south of Brampton. Feeding Therapy is an effective form of service offered to support and enhance the feeding experience of families and children. At Developing Hands, we understand the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet for a child, but also the value of family meals and gatherings and the impact these have on family dynamics and the sense of togetherness. Our Feeding Therapy services are provided by either a Speech Therapist (SLP) or Occupational Therapist (OT). Both Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists have knowledge and training in the field of feeding concerns, causes, and strategies to enhance pediatric feeding skills and the experience of feeding. The appropriate Therapist is connected with the family based on the family’s needs and goals for the child. Our highly qualified and trained Brampton Feeding Therapists provide effective Feeding Therapy services to address a child’s various needs for families in Brampton and surrounding regions.

Developing Hands provides Counselling services by Registered Social Workers at home or in the community in Brampton and in-clinic services in our clinic just south of Brampton. Counselling is a form of therapy offered to families, children, youth and adults to assist with understanding the root causes of the challenges they are facing and addressing them in a manageable way. Challenges may be emotional, social, psychological or physical. Situations and experiences are broken down to help children and adults understand the core reasons behind these concerns and learn how to address them by using coping strategies. Our Brampton Counsellors are experts in identifying these concerns that may go unnoticed by others. They assist with providing the appropriate support and strategies to address these issues to enhance the wellbeing of the individual for a more balanced life. Our highly qualified and trained Brampton Counsellors provide effective Counselling services to address the various needs of families from Brampton and surrounding regions.

Psychological assessments are highly specialized and comprehensive assessments that can only be administered by Psychologists, who receive the highest level of training in this specialized area. Psychological assessments provide an overall picture of the child’s learning profile and assists with determining areas of strength and areas of growth. These assessments assist with determining what services may be recommended to enhance the child’s functioning, learning abilities, and skills. Our Psychological assessments are completed by our highly trained Psychologist for families from Brampton and surrounding regions. Our Psychologist completes the comprehensive assessments in our clinic locations, including our West clinic just south of Brampton. Psychological assessments involve several stages including test preparation and selection, interviews with the family, administration of psychometric testing components, scoring, interpretation and analyzing the findings, writing and finalizing the report, and finally the feedback session to share results with the family.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners or OMPs for short, are knowledgeable and trained in the manipulation and massage of muscle tissue, joints and bones to treat a number of concerns in infants, children, youths and adults. At Developing Hands Pediatric Therapy, our Brampton Osteopathic Manual Practitioners start the treatment journey with your family before your child is born. Our Brampton Practitioners support pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and children from 0 (newborns) to 18 years of age (youths). Developing Hands provides Osteopathy at both our clinic locations which are easily accessible from Brampton and surrounding cities. Our highly qualified and trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner can provide services to families, infants, toddlers, children and youth from Brampton and surrounding regions, in a variety of ways to alleviate pain and enhance functioning.
