Occupational Therapist
Nimerah is a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, and an honours Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo. She is passionate about working with children and their families! Nimerah uses a holistic and family-centred approach when developing therapy programs tailored to her clients’ unique needs. She believes in making therapy fun for her clients helping them work towards and reach their therapeutic goals.
With over a decade of Occupational Therapy experience, she has provided individual and group therapy to children and young adults as well as guidance to parents via parent coaching. Nimerah has worked with clients with diverse needs to help them become more independent with their daily living skills such as fine and gross motor skills, attention and organization skills, social skills, feeding, sleep, sensory processing and more. Nimerah has training in the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy fot OTs, Mindfulness, Sensory Processing, Anxiety and Chronic Pain Management for OTs. She continues to enhance her skill set by utilizing evidence-based research, attending conferences, and taking relevant Occupational Therapy courses.
