As a Communicative Disorders Assistant at Developing Hands Pediatric and Family Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct, one-on-one therapy sessions under SLP supervision to infants, children and adolescents (ages 0-18) with a variety of diagnoses while adhering to the policies and procedures of the company. Services can be offered In-Home/Schools/Daycare (across the GTA), In-Clinic (two clinic locations in Mississauga) and or Virtually (all across Ontario).

Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language intervention under SLP supervision for children who present with a broad range of communication disorders.
  • Manage an assigned caseload and contribute to the quality of care to clients through adherence to the professional standards of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada.
  • Build rapport with client families and provide family centered care.
  • Support client families by providing training and resources to caregivers that will support the development of communication skills at home.
  • Maintain regular contact with client families and keep them informed of treatment plans.
  • Collaborate and consult with supervising SLP and other professionals.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program;
  • Registered with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC);
  • Professional liability insurance;
  • Two years of clinical experience working with children an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Experience with clinical pediatric population an asset;
  • Well-developed clinical skills;
  • Exemplary organization and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting;
