Developing Hands Pediatric Therapy provides Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Therapy (Speech Language Pathology, SLP), Physiotherapy (PT), Feeding Therapy, Counselling (Clinical Social Worker), Psychoeducational Assessments and Osteopathy for children, infants, toddlers, adolescents and youth in Mississauga and the surrounding cities. Our Mississauga Therapists provide services in our Mississauga Pediatric Therapy Clinics (Mississauga East (bordering Etobicoke) and Mississauga West (bordering Oakville and Milton) Clinics), in-home services in Mississauga and across the GTA, and online (remote) therapy across Ontario. Developing Hands consists of a multidisciplinary team of passionate and expert leaders in the therapy field. Our therapists have been serving families and children in Mississauga and surrounding regions since 2009. Our mission is to empower children and give hope to parents by providing client centered, family focused, evidence based pediatric therapy to help children reach their potential today, and become leaders of tomorrow. Helping Children Do and Play
Developing Hands offers Occupational Therapy in our West Mississauga clinic and East Mississauga center. Occupational Therapy is an effective form of rehabilitation that enables people to engage in their activities of daily living to their optimal potential and as independently as possible. Our Mississauga Occupational Therapists aim to enhance the compatibility between a person’s skills, environment, and meaningful activities to improve their performance in these activities. A child engages in a variety of daily activities that require essential skills, such as writing and getting dressed, within three categories: self-care, leisure and productivity. Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Occupational Therapists provide effective individualized Occupational Therapy services in all three categories to address a child’s various needs in Mississauga and surrounding regions. Our skilled Mississauga Occupational Therapists work with children with various diagnoses providing Occupational Therapy to children with developmental or physical delays, ADHD, Autism, sensory processing disorders, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.

Developing Hands offers Speech Therapy/Speech Language Pathology (SLP) in our West Mississauga clinic, our East Mississauga center, and in-home in various cities. Speech Therapy is a service offered to children and families to enhance communication, language, speech, literacy, and social skills. A child that is experiencing speech or language delays, articulation and pronunciation challenges, stuttering, or having trouble communicating using words or sentences may benefit from speech therapy strategies. Our Mississauga Speech Therapists (Speech Language Pathologists – SLPs) are experts in the most relevant and accurate developmental milestones of speech and language skills for children and can determine root causes of concerns. Our Mississauga Speech Therapists always meet the child at their current level and will provide evidence-based activities to enhance their skills to the next level. The Speech Language Pathologist engages the child with individualized, creative, and fun techniques to enhance a child’s skills in an enjoyable therapeutic process. Our Mississauga Speech Language Pathologists work with children with various diagnoses including developmental delays, genetic disorders, ADHD, Autism, sensory processing disorders, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Speech Therapists use a variety of effective Speech Therapy techniques to address a child’s various needs in Mississauga and surrounding regions.

Developing Hands offers Physiotherapy to children and families in our West Mississauga clinic, our East Mississauga Physiotherapy clinic, and in-home in various cities. Physiotherapy assists children with improving their function, movement, strength, physical capabilities, and addresses underlying physical health issues they may have. A child experiencing difficulties reaching their gross motor milestones will benefit from Physiotherapy. At Developing Hands, our Mississauga Physiotherapists work with children with developmental or physical delays, children that require general conditioning and strengthening, and children who are recovering from an injury, either sport related or unrelated. Our Mississauga Physiotherapists understand the different ways the body works and moves, and are equipped to address and enhance the skills of children to assist them with engaging in their daily routines and activities. Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Physiotherapists provide effective Physiotherapy services to address a child’s various needs in Mississauga and surrounding regions.

Developing Hands offers Feeding Therapy to children in our West Mississauga clinic, our East Mississauga center, in-home in various cities, and remotely. Feeding Therapy is an effective form of service provided to enhance the feeding experience of families and children. At Developing Hands, we understand the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet for a child, but also the importance of family meals and gatherings and the impact these have on family dynamics and the sense of togetherness. Our Mississauga Feeding Therapy services are conducted by either a Speech Therapist (SLP) or Occupational Therapist (OT). Both Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists have training in the field of feeding concerns, causes, and strategies to enhance the skills and experiences of feeding. The appropriate Therapist is connected with a family based on a family’s needs and goals for the child. Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Feeding Therapists provide effective Feeding Therapy services to address a child’s various needs in Mississauga and surrounding regions.

Developing Hands offers Counselling services by Registered Social Workers in our West Mississauga clinic, our East Mississauga center, and remotely across Ontario. Counselling is a form of therapy offered to families, children, youth and adults to assist with understanding the root causes of the struggles they are facing and to address them in a manageable way. These struggles can be emotional, social, psychological or physical. Situations are broken down to help children and adults understand the core reasons behind these concerns and to start addressing them by providing coping strategies. Our Mississauga Counsellors are experts in identifying these concerns that may go unnoticed by others. They assist with providing the appropriate strategies to help the individual address these issues, enhance their wellbeing, and live a more balanced life. Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Counsellors provide effective Counselling services to address the various needs of children, adults, and families in Mississauga and surrounding regions.

Psychological assessments are highly specialized and comprehensive assessments that can only be conducted by Psychologists, who receive the highest level of training in this specialized area. Psychological assessments provide an overall picture of the child’s learning profile to assist with determining areas of strength and areas of improvement. These assessments assist with directing what services or supports may be needed to enhance the child’s learning abilities, emotional well-being, behaviour and skills. Our Psychologist completes the extremely comprehensive assessments in our Mississauga clinic locations. They involve several stages including test preparation and selection, interviews with the family, administration of psychometric testing components, scoring, interpretation and analyzing the findings, writing and finalizing the report, and finally, the feedback session to share results with the family.

Developing Hands offers Osteopathy in in our West Mississauga clinic and East Mississauga center. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, or OMP for short, focus on the manipulation and massage of muscle tissue, joints and bones to treat a number of concerns in infants, children, youths and adults. At Developing Hands, our Mississauga Osteopathic Manual Practitioners start the treatment journey with your family before your child is born. Our Mississauga Practitioners treat pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and children from 0 (newborns) to 18 years of age (youths). Our highly qualified and trained Mississauga Osteopathic Manual Practitioner can assist families, infants, toddlers, children and youth in a variety of ways to alleviate pain and enhance functioning.

At Developing Hands, we offer support to families in Mississauga and surrounding regions, to instill hope and provide convenient and effective care. We believe the involvement and cooperation of the family is an integral part of the success of a child’s performance in therapy. We provide supportive Parent Coaching sessions to allow time to consult and educate families on strategies that will enhance their child’s abilities. Families may also be involved during our Counselling services to provide the necessary support to assist children with overcoming their concerns.
We also provide Adult Counselling Services in Mississauga with highly qualified and trained Therapists to assist adults with meeting their therapeutic goals. Developing Hands offers a complete experience for the whole family in Mississauga and surrounding regions to address therapeutic goals and needs, both for children and adults.
