Communicative Disorders Assistant
Minella is a dedicated Communicative Disorders Assistant who recently obtained her graduate certificate from Lambton College. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and an MBA in Human Resource Management, which contribute to her strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
She has completed clinical placements at Pathways Health Centre for Children and Ontario Speech and Language Services, where she supported children and adults in achieving their speech, language, and communication goals under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists. Her experience includes working with children with motor speech disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, autism, ADHD, and anxiety. She has also provided support to adults recovering from brain injuries, brain tumours, dementia, and post-stroke rehabilitation. Her training involved articulation, language comprehension, and expression, as well as providing education and strategies for caregivers and families.
In addition to her CDA experience, Minella has delivered accent modification training, helping individuals develop clarity and confidence in their spoken communication.
Minella is passionate about creating a patient-centred supportive environment, tailoring therapy activities to meet each person’s unique needs while fostering meaningful progress and confidence in communication.
